Himalayan Bird Park

However, it has a formidable rival for dominance of the city’s skyline: the orange statue of Hindu god Lord Hanuman atop Jakhoo Hill.

Built in Neo-Gothic style, Christ Church is one of the most important landmarks in Shimla. It was the first church for Christians in Shimla. In 1860, Col. Dumbleton donated a giant clock for the church’s front porch. In 1873, the church also added a porch. Inside, you can admire five stained glass windows that represent the 5 virtues of Christianity. However, it was severely damaged during the harsh winter of 1961. Snow fell on top of the pinnacles and the roof weakened.
Located near the famous Mall Road, the Christ Church is one of the most important tourist places in Shimla. It is the second-oldest church in North India, after the St. John Church in Meerut. Its rich history and opulence make it a must-visit for any Jesus Christ devotee. The church’s pipe-organ, installed in 1899, is the largest in the Indian subcontinent.
